Police have appealed for witnesses after a mother was killed in a tragic collision in Essex yesterday evening.
Her 23-year-old daughter was also injured in the crash, which happened just before 5.30pm in the Westcliff area.

Police were called to reports of a collision between a car and two pedestrians at the junction of Hamlet Court Road and St John’s Road.
The woman and her daughter were transported to the hospital, and despite all the efforts of medical professionals, the 52-year-old woman died in the meantime.
Her daughter’s condition is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
The driver of the black Suzuki Splash was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Aged 31, he remains in custody for questioning while the woman’s family is being assisted by police officers.

The local Labor Party took to Facebook to share a tribute to the mother.
Cllr Maxine Sadza posted on Facebook: “On behalf of Councilor Milton, we are deeply saddened to hear this morning that a speeding car crossed the road last night and hit a mother and child in St John’s Road, Westcliff.
“Tragically, the mother died in the hospital. Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.
“This tragic accident could have been avoided, and it happened because of speeding
“There is a meeting convened by Cllrs Cheryl Nevin, Sam Allen and Maxine Sadza to discuss traffic issues on Saturday 14th December at the Haven Hub on Hamlet Court Road at 12.30pm.”
