The Kansas City Chiefs tight end made a move in Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills
Travis Kelce opens up about what inspired him to show off one of girlfriend Taylor Swift’s signature moves on the court.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end made a heart with his hands in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills after scoring a touchdown during the second quarter. And on Wednesday his episode New heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast, he explained to his older brother Jason Kelce that he was inspired to make the move to bring some positivity to the sport.
“Yeah man, I had to spread the love,” Travis said. “You always gotta spread that love, baby.”
Cameras caught Travis moving, apparently in the direction of the suite where his girlfriend Taylor Swift was sitting with members of Kelce’s family. But Travis went on to say the gesture was mostly for Bills fans, who he said were “understandably” met with “a lot of hate” when he stopped by Highmark Stadium in New York, the Bills’ home field.

“It’s a football game,” Travis said, after Jason reminded him that it was “supposed to be” competitive. “The Bills, coming to their house, they want to make a fight. Did it get a little disrespectful? 1000%. 1000%. Did they get a little more? 1000%.”
Asked what they said, Travis was coy. “I won’t say because that’s what they want,” he told Jason. “They want to feel … I’m not going to broadcast it. But some things were said about the family, some pretty inappropriate things were said about [teammate Patrick] Mahomes. It was, it was pretty wacky.”
“I see, I see,” he continued. “Coming into a hostile environment, I respect that. But I just wanted to make sure they knew it wasn’t mutual. I don’t hate you like you hate us. It’s all love. It’s all love, baby.”
Jason, for his part, didn’t see it that way. “They don’t hate us,” insisted the Philadelphia Eagles center, who was seen taking shots with Bills fans before the game. – I was with them, they love you!
For what it’s worth, Travis had a different take on Bills fans earlier in the podcast.
“I have to tip my hat to the Bills Mafia,” he said. “It’s such a great atmosphere to play there. It was so much fun. They brought the energy, they were fired up every play, every quarter we had, and they made it fun. I can’t thank the Bills Mafia enough [enough] for showing up and showing themselves and making that environment memorable for everyone involved. It was electric.”

He might not feel that way after the game, though. The Chiefs won, defeating the Bills 27-24 and advancing to the AFC Championship where they will face the Ravens on January 28th.
Fans will have to wait until then to see if Travis replicates Swift’s “hand on heart” move there. He’s usually known for doing his signature “point and shoot” move after scoring – something he admitted on a previous episode of his podcast was motivated by his mindset to “always dream big” on and off the court.
“If your dreams aren’t bigger than you are, then there’s a problem with your dreams,” Travis said, quoting NFL legend and current Colorado football coach Deion Sanders and noting that it’s one of his “favorite quotes” that reminds him that ” shoot for the stars.”
