Trial of Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner SUSPENDED after 9 MINUTES over judge’s ‘kill the b*****d’ rant

The trial of MADELEINE McCann’s main suspect, Christian Brueckner, on a series of rape charges was adjourned today after just nine minutes.

A handcuffed Brueckner, 47, brazenly entered the hearing with a blank expression on his face before the trial was adjourned after the judge’s “kill the dick” was read out in court.

He was accused of three rapes and two sexual assaults.

The charges heard during the trial at the Braunschweig Regional Court are unrelated to Maddie, who is suspected of having been abducted by him 17 years ago.

However, after only nine minutes of today’s opening hearing, the trial had to be stopped.

His lawyer, Dr. Friedrich Fülscher, funded by legal aid, immediately tried to discredit one of the jurors who was supposed to help convict Brueckner.

More about Christian Brueckner

Dr. Fülscher claimed that she called for the assassination of the president on social media.

He said the woman had written “kill the asshole now” and “kill the devil”, referring to Brazilian leader Jair Bolsonaro.

dr. Fülscher said the remark meant she was unfit to handle the case and could not be relied upon as far as his client was concerned.

The hearing was adjourned before Judge Christina Engelmann ruled that a lay judge could not preside over the case because of the workload.

Brueckner’s hearing has now been frozen until next Friday so that a replacement judge can be found.

Outside court, Brueckner’s attorney said it was no surprise his client looked bad.

Madeleine McCann is suspected of Christian B ‘planning to kidnap the girl and sell her to a childless couple’ a week before she disappeared

dr. Fülscher said: “He spent two years in solitary confinement, so of course he is not healthy.”

A whining Dr. Fülscher admitted that Brueckner was in “poor physical health” and even tried to blame the MEDIA for making his client feel stressed.

dr. Fülscher told German TV: “Brueckner found the media presence extremely stressful because the media is here for the Madeleine case, not for this one.

“He is in poor physical health.”

Brueckner stared blankly as he arrived at court today in a police van with barred windows, wearing a dark green hooded jacket.

It was the first time he had been photographed since 2020, when he limped out of hospital in shackles after being assaulted in prison.

While defendants in Germany have the right to hide their faces, Brueckner shamelessly chose not to.

Photographers and TV cameras gathered around the suspect Maddie, protected from journalists and the press by protective Perspex.

He was led to the dock where his handcuffs were removed and where he sat next to his lawyer, Dr. Friedrich Fülscher.

Brueckner was smartly dressed in brushed leather boots, a light blue jacket and a purple shirt without a tie.

As the judges were being sworn in, Brueckner had business advisory papers appear on the table in front of him.

Brueckner appeared at the regional court in Braunschweig before a panel of five judges – because Germany does not use a jury system.

Prosecutors allege that Brueckner raped three women and sexually assaulted children twice in Portugal.

Among his alleged victims is Irish mother Hazel Behan, who says he raped her when she was 20 and working as a holiday sales representative in Portugal in 2004.

He is also accused of raping and abusing a teenage girl and a 70- to 80-year-old woman at his home in Praia da Luz between December 2000 and June 2006.

Further harrowing allegations the court heard were that he masturbated in front of a girl on a playground in Messines in June 2017.

He also faces claims he did the same to another girl, on Salema Beach in Portugal, in April 2007.

German drifter Brueckner is already in prison, serving a seven-year sentence for rape.

The new conviction will keep him behind bars – as fears grow he may never be charged in Madeleine’s disappearance.

Brueckner was identified four years ago as the prime suspect in the 2007 abduction of Madeleine from the family’s apartment in Portugal.

German investigators believe Brueckner kidnapped and killed her – although no charges have been brought against him.

Ahead of his court appearance today, his lawyer has shamelessly pledged to free him.

dr. Fülscher said he was confident he could defend himself against the charges

He claimed the allegations were part of a witch hunt against Brueckner.

dr. Fülscher revealed that he had brought in a powerful and expensive defense team, insisting: “I am convinced that an acquittal can only come at the end of the trial.”

Meanwhile, Brueckner taunted the police behind bars in a sickening rant.

In his first comments on the case, Brueckner shamelessly called his trial “ridiculous.”

The German drifter also mocked the cops mercilessly, saying: “I hope (they) find some answers to (their) questions soon.”

Brueckner was moved from Oldenburg prison in northern Germany to Schnedebruch near Hanover, MailOnline writes.

He said: “My situation hasn’t changed at all. I just moved prison. I’m still completely isolated. Since (sic) more than two years.

“I am still not allowed to talk to anyone except my lawyers and my punishers (guards).”
