Introducing Trisha Yearwood to Austin city limits The Hall of Fame included a sweet reunion with an old friend.
The country music star performed “Walkaway Joe” with Eagles co-founder Don Henley during the all-star “Austin City Limits 9th Annual Hall of Fame Honors Trisha Yearwood” special that will air on PBS on Saturday.
“I can’t imagine being on this stage and being honored by Don Henley and not asking him if he would come up here and help me finish my part of the show,” Yearwood said in a clip of the upcoming episode posted on YouTube.

As the rocker joined her on stage to perform the 1992 hit, Yearwood praised him for being a good friend.
“I try not to ask you to do a lot of things because you always say I appreciate you a lot too,” Yearwood said, making Henley smile.

The rocker was on hand to induct Yearwood into the Hall of Fame, which includes fellow musicians like Sheryl Crow, BB King and Loretta Lynn. Other musicians present at the event included Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Ronnie Dunn and Jo Dee Messina.

After the special was filmed in October 2023, Yearwood shared on Instagram that “I had the best time in Austin, to say the least.”
“I feel humbled to be honored on such a hallowed stage. Live music can change people’s lives and what Austin City Limits has been doing for live music for the past 50 years is truly life changing, not only for the artists and musicians, but most importantly for everyone watching and they listen,” her title read.

Yearwood included a sweet message to Henley that read, “Don Henley, this honor will forever mean so much more for welcoming me to the @acltv Hall of Fame. Appreciate you my friend!”
“Walkaway Joe” featured a young Matthew McConaughey in its music video when it was first released as a single in 1992.
