TROY DEENEY has been sacked by Forest Green after just SIX matches in charge.
The Watford legend and SunSport columnist was only appointed head coach of the League Two side on 20 December.

Deeney, 35, has made 18 appearances for Forest Green this season after joining as player-manager in the summer, scoring four times.
But he has not featured since being appointed boss last month, with Sun Sport exclusively revealing his time at the New Lawn Stadium is up.
After Sun Sport exclusively broke the news, Forest Green confirmed it with a club statement at 21:38.
Dale Vince, Chairman of Forest Green Rovers said: “These are decisions that no-one likes to make, but we have done so to give FGR the best possible opportunity to improve their results and climb the league table. We wish Troy all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts.”
Dan Connor will manage Forest Green for Saturday’s match at Gillingham.
Forest Green have drawn three times and lost three of their six games in charge.
They are at the bottom of the fourth league, seven points from safety.
Struggles were beaten 2-0 at home to Harrogate on Saturday, leading to the former Birmingham City striker giving the team some home truths.

Deeney claimed that there were “too many babies” in his crew and stated that he would rather watch Antiques Roadshow.
He also called the performance of defender Fankatya Dabo “terrible”.
But the passionate star would later apologize to his players for criticizing them, claiming his emotions “can get the better of him”.
Deeney has worked tirelessly around the clock to try to transform the fortunes of the EFL’s bottom club.
He was prepared to bring in John Terry as part of his staff to help him as there was only one manager at Rovers.
And that meant he also couldn’t offer his experience on the pitch in a player-manager role.
This week he said: “If I come off the bench, who will be the replacement? Because we only have one coach.
“We are working hard to get another striker, but I have joined the training sessions [on Monday] and I still have a little left, so we’ll see.”
Meanwhile, Deeney’s day was already off to a bad start after he was handed a four-match ban by the FA.
He was also fined after using “inappropriate language” and receiving a red card during last month’s 2-1 defeat by Swindon.
An FA statement said: “Forest Green Rovers manager Troy Deeney has been charged by the FA with two alleged breaches of the language and conduct rules after he was sent off during their game against Swindon Town.
“Deeney, who took charge at Forest Green last month, was sent off in the 85th minute of the 2-1 away defeat on December 29.
“The FA claims Deeney’s language and behavior was ‘inappropriate and/or offensive and/or insulting and/or threatening’ after referee Scott Simpson sent him off. “Deeney’s language to the match official was also allegedly ‘inappropriate and/or abusive and/or insulting’ after he was sent off.”
Now that will hold until he gets his next role in the hollowed out position.
Writing exclusively for The Sun ahead of his first game, Deeney explained why he couldn’t turn down the opportunity despite relegation seemingly looming.
He said: “Some people have asked why I wanted to take over a club that was bottom of League Two for my first job in management — but I’ve never been one to turn down a challenge.
“I remember Paul Ince and Sol Campbell taking over Macclesfield in similar circumstances and leading them to safety.
“It is also true that there are not enough black and ethnic minority managers in English football.
“We’re still underrepresented and less likely to get opportunities – although I’m not sure how many blacks are applying for jobs at League Two level.”
He also revealed his plan to try to bring out the dark side of the renowned vegan club.

He said: “The only thing everyone knows about us is that it’s a vegan club — and while it may have been funny the first time an opposition fan asked me if I wanted a steak or a sausage roll, it quickly went down the drain. turned off.
“We need to find a little more nastiness. Without wanting to turn us into ’80s Wimbledon, I want us to become horrible to play against.
“I will continue to play until January, when Dale hopes to invest more in the team and then I hope to gradually fade into the background as a player, rather than retire completely.
“Everyone told me it would be extremely difficult to be a player-manager, but for now it’s a ‘must have’.”
But despite the warnings – even Deeney wouldn’t have expected it to be as ruthless as it was with just six matches to try to pull off his plan.
Now Forest Green are looking for their third campaign boss who sacked Dave Horseman four weeks ago and replaced him with a former Premier League striker.
He arrived in July after a failed start to pre-season following last season’s relegation from League One.
Duncan Ferguson left the club in the summer, when Hannah Dingley had a historic interim spell in charge, before that ended when Horseman was appointed on July 17.
