British presenter Davina McCall talks about brain surgery for the first time.
On Monday, November 25, McCall, 57, who is well known in the UK for hosting TV shows including Big Brother UKshe said in an emotional video posted on Instagram that she is “recovering” from a recent tumor removal procedure.
Filming herself lying in bed at home with what appeared to be a bruise under her left eye, McCall said: “Hi, just wanted to check in and say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who messaged me or got in touch. It’s… God… it meant the world,” she then paused as she became emotional in the clip.
“It was angry and it’s really nice to be back home,” she continued. “I’m on the other side.”
McCall explained that, because of the surgery, her short-term memory is “a little iffy, but it’s something I can work on” and that she “writes down everything I do to make me feel safe.”

The mother of three added that her partner Michael Douglas and her stepmother Gaby are taking “brilliant care” of her. She then praised her stepmother, saying: “I can’t really say thank you enough Gaby. She’s been an incredible rock my whole life.”
“I was talking to someone yesterday and I said I have a huge dose of vitamin G. I think when something like this happens I feel so grateful,” McCall said before pausing as she became emotional again. “I was always grateful. I’ve been really lucky in my life, but… right now I feel incredibly grateful.”
“So thank you all for everything. I am recovering, resting, sleeping a lot and feeling very well. I just feel very happy,” she concluded with a smile.

In the caption, McCall praised her loved ones for their support while also thanking her partner Michael “for winning the best boyfriend ever award” and Gaby “for being the best grandma … and mom ever.”
“I feel much better. I slept well in my own bed. Take a few naps during the day which keeps my brain clear…slow slowly,” McCall wrote of her recovery. “… Thank you @clevelandclinic and my awesome neurosurgeon, Kevin. i love you thank you [to] incredibly beautiful souls who cared for me,” she added.
On November 15, McCall revealed in a pre-recorded video posted to Instagram that she will be undergoing brain surgery after a recent scan revealed she had a “very rare” brain tumor.

Her latest post comes after her boyfriend Douglas, 49, shared an update on her recovery from surgery on his Instagram account on November 18.
“She’s really taken a huge step forward in the last 24 hours. She came out of intensive care. It is “loving awareness,” Douglas wrote. He added in the caption: “Mega progress in the last 24 hours. A huge relief to see the light breaking through…”
