TV legend confirms he will take part in The Traitors celebrity version after topping host Claudia Winkleman’s wishlist

STEPHEN Fry has agreed to take part in the famous version of The Traitors.

The TV veteran was at the top of host Claudia Winkleman’s wish list for the BBC’s backstabbing reality show.

Insiders told The Sun Blackadder comedy star Stephen, 67, was approached and told yes.

A source said: “Claudia put Stephen right at the top of the celebrities she’d want on The Traitors and Stephen made it clear he’d be game.

“Stephen is a fan of the show and Claudia was desperate for him to be on it.

“No contracts have been signed yet – but he has told show bosses to name a time and date and he will be there.”

Others on Claudia’s wish list to film next year include Only Connect quiz presenter Victoria Coren Mitchell and actors Adam Woodyatt and Andrew Garfield.

The Sun first revealed in January that the Beeb had commissioned a celebrity edition of its ratings hit.

He confirmed our story last week and said casting has begun.

The second series of The Traitors attracted up to four million viewers every night, with more watching on catch-up.

Insiders believe that the famous series could easily beat him.

One of them commented: “The Traitors has been a huge success for the BBC and the celebrity version of the show will be a blast to watch.”
