Twins Costars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito Reunite at 2024 Oscars: ‘We Both Tried to Kill Batman’

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito reunited at the 2024 Academy Awards on Sunday and shared the hilarious role of Batman on stage.

Thirty-six years after their 1988 film Geminithe former actors were presented together at the 96th Academy Awards, receiving a standing ovation.

“Look at that, it’s so beautiful,” DeVito, 79, told the crowd. “Look at everything. Look at that, very nice. Well, Arnold and I are presenting together, for a very obvious reason.”

“We both tried to kill Batman,” snapped Schwarzenegger (76).

DeVito played the villain The Penguin in 1992 Batman returns with Michael Keaton as the hero, while Schwarzenegger was Mr. Freeze 1997. Batman & Robinin which George Clooney played Batman.

“How did Batman beat you?” DeVito asked Schwarzenegger, who replied, “He used my weakness against me…”

“Warmth?” DeVito asked. “Love,” Schwarzenegger said.

“Oh. He threw me out the window. Really,” DeVito said, while Schwarzenegger jokingly added, “Batman, you son of a bitch.”

“He’s here. There he is! He’s here. Look,” DeVito said, as the camera panned to a straight-faced 72-year-old Keaton in the audience. The actor was also the presenter on Sunday, reuniting with bug juice actress Catherine O’Hara on stage earlier in the ceremony.

“You have a lot of courage to show your face here,” Schwarzenegger said from the stage. DeVito added to Keaton, “You’re a real badass. I’ll see you after the Governor’s Ball, my friend!”
