LEICESTER CITY and Everton are in danger of a major points deduction ahead of the new Premier League season.
The foxes are currently awaiting sentencing after being accused of breaking profit and sustainability rules.

Their punishment was avoided last term as Leicester won promotion from the Championship.
However, they could now start the upcoming campaign on minus points.
According to the Telegraph, the penalty could be between six and 15 points.
However, SunSport understands that a 15-point deduction is unlikely, but 10 points would still be a Premier League record.
Portsmouth currently hold the record after being deducted nine points for going into administration in 2010.
Everton and Nottingham Forest both had points deducted for PSR breaches last season, with the latter receiving a four-point penalty.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United will start the Championship season minus two points from the 2022-23 season.
Leicester’s predicament stems from breaches of the rules ahead of their relegation in 2023 after nine seasons in the top flight.

The club avoided points being deducted last season after launching a legal case accusing the Premier League and EFL of “unlawful conspiracy” over the allegations and seeking an injunction before the end of the campaign.
Manager Enzo Maresca could also leave the King Power Stadium this summer.

Nottingham Forest
Deducted four points during the 2023-24 season. for breaching the Premier League’s spending cap by £34.563m. Their appeal was not rejected, and the decision was confirmed.
Everton
Initial 10-point deduction for Premier League offenses in 2021-22. it was reduced to six points after an appeal. They were stripped of two more points later in the 2023-24 season. An appeal was filed but was withdrawn after Prem survived.
Sheffield United
They hit a two-point deduction for their finances during the 2022-23 EFL season. He will start the 2024-25 championship season. with -2 points after relegation from Prem.
OTHERS WHO MAY FACE PUNISHMENT…
Manchester City
The Etihad Club vehemently denies the 115 allegations leveled against them in February 2023. The Commission’s lengthy case is due to start in October or November, but a final decision is not expected until March or April 2025.
Chelsea
Blues bosses have flagged illegal payments to agents and others during the Roman Abramovich era. He has been fined £8.6m by Uefa, but has yet to be formally charged by Prem despite an ongoing investigation.
Leicester
The Foxes exceeded the Prem PSR loss limit last season but did not have to declare their accounts for the 2022-23 season until this month due to relegation. This brings the schedule back and means they are likely to face having their Prem points deducted for the 2024-25 season. after returning to the first league.
Everton (again)
The Toffees are again in danger of breaching PSR rules and are in a race against time to raise funds and balance the books. Not only could this lead to another charge, but the administration as well. This would lead to an automatic deduction of nine points for the 2024/25 season.
Everton were handed an eight-point deduction last season for breaching PSR rules, losing a staggering £371.8m over three years.
The Toffees started the new cycle £89.1m in the hole, meaning they can only afford another £15.9m of losses before breaking the £105m mark again.
June 30 marks the end of the club’s financial operations, meaning owner Farhad Moshiri has just 16 DAYS to sell players and balance the books.
Failure to do so will lead to another charge leveled against the Merseyseders and the administration.
This would produce an automatic deduction of nine points for the 2024/25 season. and gave Sean Dyches’ troops a second mountain to climb in as many seasons.
