It has now been revealed that a teenage driver has died and five others have been injured after a car crashed into a wall in a West Yorkshire village last night.

The Sun understands the appalling weather conditions were a factor in the horror crash.

The collision involved a white Seat Ibiza which crashed into a wall on Brow Lane near Shelf, near Halifax.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, died at the scene, while an 18-year-old man was seriously injured.

Four more passengers were injured in the accident that happened at 11:17 p.m.

A red weather alert has been issued for Scotland until midnight on Saturday as “very heavy rainfall is expected leading to further serious flooding and disruption”.

First Minister Humza Yousaf warned: “We haven’t seen the last of this.”

London North Eastern Railway has urged people not to attempt to travel on its services today, with London’s Kings Cross station closed today due to overcrowding.

Network Rail said it was “managing the number of passengers in the concourse and on the platforms”.
