Too many people are making calls for available phone lines. This is a temporary message and you will be able to make a call whenever the line is free.
- You’ll also hear this message from many service providers during service outages, outages, or equipment damage or weather-damaged equipment.
For Verizon specifically, there are two different causes: When do you hear the message?
Calling a specific number: The other person’s service provider has a problem.
Calling all numbers: Your service provider has a problem.
- The problem can range from service interruptions, downed or damaged equipment, or weather-damaged equipment.[1]
- This message does not mean that you are blocked.
- If you use a landline, follow the steps in this wikiHow article to diagnose your problem.
If you’re on Verizon, dial *611. Calling this number will help you find out if there is a fault in your area and should give you an estimated time until the problem is fixed.
- If you only hear “all circuits busy” when you call a certain number, the problem is on their end, not yours.
Check for interruptions. If you can’t make a call, your service provider may be down. You can go online or check their mobile app (if they have one) for more information.
- If you’re getting a message when trying to call one person, check to see if their carrier is on hold and how long it will last. Then you will know when you can call them again.
Please wait and try calling again later. If you’re not on Verizon, a line will be freed up soon so you can make a call.[2]
