In a surprise twist on Dancing with the Stars , actress and Britney’s sister Jamie Lynn Spears and her dance partner, Alan Bersten, faced elimination on Tuesday night, even though they didn’t make it to the bottom of the rankings. Their performance of the rumba earned them a respectable score of 16.
Judge Derek Hough, after the performance, praised Jamie for the significant improvement she had shown since her debut week.
However, the decision to send the duo home, especially when they were not in last place, left many in shock, including Derek himself.
He conveyed his amazement to co-host Alfonso Ribeiro, while some fans shared opposing opinions on social media. Comments ranged from “America finally voted the right way” to “Good choice.”

The same evening Barry Williams from The Brady Group fame, along with his partner Peta Murgatroyd, took to the stage with a cha-cha routine.
Barry, with his trademark confidence, glided across the dance floor, showing talent even though he missed a few beats. Despite the obvious efforts and the generally well-received performance, many felt the judges’ criticisms were overly harsh.
Carrie Ann Inaba praised Barry’s confidence, but hinted that this performance might not have been as commendable as his previous one – a statement that drew a chorus of boos from the audience.

Derek, while trying to offer some constructive feedback, also faced a similar backlash. Bruno Tonioli was more careful with his words, but the damage was seemingly done. The duo received an overall score of 15 out of 30, which many fans felt was undeservedly low.
Supporters took to social media platforms, defending Barry with comments such as: “I definitely feel they are being very hard on Barry Williams” and “They are trying to get Barry out because he was so good!” Some also accused the judges of clear favoritism, noting that feedback for other contestants was less severe.
DWTS fans have a lingering perception of the judges playing favorites on the show. Earlier this season, Jason Mraz emerged as the favorite to win the competition, especially after his stellar cha-cha performance with partner Daniella Karagach.

They danced on I feel like dancing gets impressive marks from the judges, and Jason is praised by Bruno and Carrie Ann. With such an outstanding start, Jason was surpassed only by Ariana Madix.
Interestingly, despite his obvious talent, Jason mentioned in a pre-taped segment that he had been “faking his way through dancing” for most of his career.
Digging into his past, he shared that while studying musical theater in college, he eventually decided to quit dancing because he felt humiliated. Instead, he turned to singing, a domain in which he felt more confident. Still, a part of him has always longed to return to dancing, making his current journey on DWTS all the more compelling.
