Usher Gets Emotional During Final Las Vegas Residency Performance

Usher may have been “caught” in the moment!

The future Super Bowl halftime performer, 45, celebrated his latest career milestone on stage Saturday when he completed his finale My way Residency performance in Las Vegas.

During his performance of “Without You,” the musician dropped to his knees, covered his face with his hands and was surrounded by his crew of dancers and onstage collaborators as they rang the bells in his final residency.

IN fan-made video of the night, Usher can be seen shirtless and wearing silver pants as he became visibly emotional and had to turn his back to the audience at Dolby Live — Park MGM.

After wiping away tears and celebrating with his crew, Usher eventually faced the crowd and began to sing the song a cappella while tapping his feet.

“God bless you, I love you,” he said on stage during the final show of his residency, which began in July 2022.

Usher also toasted the milestone X (formerly Twitter)where he retweeted a clip of himself talking to Trevor Nelson in 2004. During the interview, Usher opened up about the potential of a Vegas residency and how it’s not something he’d write off in 20 years — an opinion he held even about his height Confessions era.

“I’m such a theater artist,” Usher said in 2004. “I’d love to be in space… if I decided to go to Las Vegas, it would be the most phenomenal thing you’ve ever seen in your life.”

“It wouldn’t be like, ‘Oh God, he’s washed up and this is just an opportunity for him to just, you know, collect as many checks as he wants.’ No. It’s going to be a phenomenal show.”

Reflecting on the interview on Sunday, Usher gave himself some props: “That’s when I saw it…look at me now.”

Usher has had a lot to celebrate in recent weeks, as he also teamed up with BTS’s Jungkook for a remix of his single “Standing Next to You.”

The musician promoted the track, which was originally featured on Jungkook’s solo debut album golden, on Instagram on Sunday with several pictures of the duo. “Standing Next to You (Usher Remix) is out! Say hello to my brother Jung Kook @bts.bighitofficial 🙏🏾,” Usher wrote.

Usher also teamed up with Janelle Monáe last month — not for a new song, but rather for a sweet moment during his longtime residency. Just like he did for Doja Cat and Jessica Alba before her, Usher serenaded Monáe during the show.

For his performance of “Superstar,” Usher slow danced with a fellow musician, who wrote that he put on an “amazing show.”
