Uzo Aduba shows her love for her director husband Robert Sweeting with a sweet celebratory Instagram post celebrating their three year wedding anniversary.
“Our anniversary. This is from our traditional Nigerian wedding ceremony (Igba Nkwu)”, Orange is the new black the actress shared with her 2.2 million Instagram followers on Tuesday.
“This day meant so much to us,” she continued, before turning to her husband. “You’ve made my whole life better, more fulfilling. I’m so thankful our souls found each other. I’ve loved sharing every step of this journey with you @robertsweetinglife and I can’t wait to experience new chapters, next chapters, new journeys with you.”
Along with her romantic anniversary message, Aduba, 42, posted photos from the couple’s traditional Nigerian wedding ceremony, where the bride wore a red dress adorned with metallic threads and jewels.
For the ceremony, the bride’s new husband, Sweeting, wore an Agbada, traditionally worn by Nigerian men over formal attire, adorned with lions on the lapel and topped with a Nigerian fila hat.
“I love you so much,” Aduba ended her post. “Thank you for loving me too. So much. Happy anniversary. Your wife, Uzo 📸: @peytonrbyford.”
The actress, who was born in Boston to Nigerian parents, first announced her marriage to the director in 2021, a year after they tied the knot in secret in New York, via an Instagram post featuring a photo of her and Sweeting on their wedding day and a quote from the 1989 hit rom-com When Harry met Sally.

Although the couple tries to keep their relationship out of the public eye, they occasionally share cute posts about each other on social media and support each other at events.
