Welcome to PlathvilleMoriah Plath tells her father Barry Plath about a dark period in her life.
During Tuesday’s episode of the TLC show, Moriah, 21, had lunch with her dad, 55, at the farm. While the father-daughter duo were catching up on their lives, the conversation took an unexpectedly emotional turn.
Moriah confided in her dad that she was in a “dark” place amid all the family drama and admitted that at one point she even “didn’t want to live anymore.”
“I hit rock bottom a few months ago,” she said. “I got used to just being miserable and I forgot what it felt like to be happy. And I was just miserable inside. I was very dark, very depressed. I just didn’t want to live anymore.”

‘Welcome to Plathville’: Ethan Plath feels ‘caught in the middle’ between his siblings and wife Olivia
On top of her parents Barry and Kim’s divorce, Moriah faced constant conflict with her brother Ethan Plath’s wife, Olivia Plath. She and Olivia, 25, used to be best friends, but a series of problems between them led Moriah to declare that she had stopped trying to have a relationship with her sister-in-law.
In a conversation with Barry, Moriah claimed that Olivia stole the music they recorded together. She also revealed that she blocked Ethan, 25.
“I started to feel like this is not the way I want to live my life,” she said in a confessional interview. “Like, God, if it’s going to be like this, I’d just, I’d rather just die. Like, I’d never kill myself. But like, can you take me now?”

‘Welcome to Plathville’: Moriah Plath gets emotional as she tells Kim and Barry about her concert
She explained that she reached a “big pivotal” moment where she realized something needed to change or “it was going to kill me.” A worried Barry said he has a bit of an understanding of what depression is and can relate to where it comes from.
Then Moriah revealed surprising news: she wanted to be baptized again. She explained to producers that although she was baptized as a child, it wasn’t really her “choice” at the time.
“I’ve been trying to do it on my own for years and there’s no way I could do it without Jesus,” she said. “God never felt real in my life until I hit rock bottom, until I realized I couldn’t do it alone.”
Barry was absolutely delighted with her decision and called it “terrible”.

Barry Plath from ‘Welcome to Plathville’ is ‘really lonely’ as he and Kim travel through ‘Strange’ Split
“I’m so happy,” he told the producers. “Early on, you know, we just raised our children, you know, to love God and be His. But, you know, they chose their own way. And they did their own thing for a while. But not with Moriah. She came back. She came back with God. So that’s great to see.”
Moriah also addressed her evolving relationship with her father, noting that they had recently grown closer. She explained that in the midst of that drama, she realized how her father was always there for her “no matter what.”
“I’ve really been leaning on my dad a lot the last few months because I’ve been really struggling with the situation with Ethan and Olivia,” she said. “I realized that he was one of the few people who stood by me no matter what and didn’t judge me.”
