Vicky Kaushal transforms into Sam Manekshaw
Sam Bahadur, the biopic on Field Marshal Sam Maneckshaw, reunites Vicky Kaushal and Meghna Gulzar after 2018’s Raazi. The teaser of the film, which was released on Friday, seems to be another performance worth cheering by Vicky Kaushal. The review of the film focuses on Sam’s dedication to his job and the Indian Army, and how he was willing to sacrifice everything for his nation, but was not interested in the politics that went along with it. He makes it known that serving in a war has political repercussions by saying, “Mujhe politics mein koi interest nahi hai (I’m not interested in politics),” in the teaser.
The film will also depict the 1971 conflict he commanded from the front that resulted in the formation of Bangladesh. He corrects Fatima Sana Shaikh’s Indira Gandhi at the end of the teaser when she says that a soldier must lay down his life for his nation and instead says, “A soldier must kill anyone who stands in the way of their country’s security.” Sanya Malhotra plays his wife Siloo in the film and Fatima Sana Shaikh portrays Indira Gandhi. Jawaharlal Nehru and Yahya Khan are played by Neeraj Kabi and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in the film.
On December 1, Sam Bahadur will be released in theaters. The first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal was Sam Manekshaw. In the conflict that resulted in the establishment of Bangladesh in 1971, he was credited with helping India defeat Pakistan. He served as the Chief of the General Staff of the Indian Army during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, and was promoted to the rank of Field Marshal by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi after the conflict. Sam and the previous prime minister had a cordial relationship, according to Brigadier Behram Panthaki, his former aide, who revealed this to PTI in 2014.
