Victoria and David Beckham Slip Back into Their Iconic Purple Wedding Outfits to Celebrate 25th Anniversary

Victoria and David Beckham are taking their iconic status to the next level in honor of their 25th anniversary.

The couple, who married on July 4, 1999, shared a joint Instagram post on July 3 in a look that looks eerily similar to the purple Antonio Berardi reception look they wore on their big day 25 years ago.

“Look what we found…” the couple wrote on Instagram.

It’s hard to tell if it’s the original outfit or not, but the bold purple suit and bodycon dress with floral detailing look exactly like what the two wore all those years ago.

For the new photo, the couple stretched out on the throne – as expected from the queen of fashion and the king of sports who are celebrating 25 years of marriage. To modernize the look for 2024, Victoria wore silver high-heeled shoes that tied to her calves and wore her long brown hair down. In 1999, her hair was cut short, revealing a lot more floral detailing on the one-shoulder dress.

David, on the other hand, has many more tattoos in his updated photo – and far fewer locks in his hair. Other than that, his style is quite similar. He completed his suit with matching purple shoes and his wife’s gentle look.

They posed for the photo holding hands, and indeed the only thing missing was Brooklyn Peltz Beckham (25), the couple’s eldest son, who was also at the wedding. He wore his own purple suit with a matching cowboy hat.

David Beckham says key to 27 years with Victoria is ‘feeding off each other’ in ‘Tough Times’

The couple, who are also parents to Romeo Beckham, 21, Cruz Beckham, 19, and Harper Beckham, 12, tied the knot four months after Brooklyn was born, and Victoria wore a champagne ballgown by Vera Wang for the actual ceremony .

Wang told PEOPLE in October that the dress had to fly between London and New York four times while it was being created.

“I call it the transatlantic dress,” Wang said. “That bodice flew back and forth four times on the Concorde. The actual underbodice was made by a very famous couture bodice maker called Mister Pearl, who only works out of London.”

The type of corset on her dress is something Wang felt was too extreme for her – but the design is perfect for Victoria.

“I couldn’t live with that because I need to be comfortable, as I always say. But Victoria is.”
