Vidya married former Indian cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth on March 30, 1983. On March 4, 1984, the couple welcomed their first child, Adithyaa Srikkanth. Adithyaa, a former cricketer, is the founder and CEO of Zealcity Studios, a Chennai-based software company. On April 14, 1987, Vidya gave birth to her second son, Anirudha Srikkanth. Anirudha has played for Indian Premier League cricket teams Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Before any major cricket Test series, Srikkanth visits the Guruvayur temple without exception. He was very superstitious and had several charms hanging around his neck and he would look at them constantly after every stroke. He even prayed while hitting the ball! “
