Vignesh Shivan, also known as Vicky, is an Indian director, actor, writer, producer and lyricist. He mainly works in Tamil films. He is best known for being the husband of Indian film actress and producer Nayanthara, who works primarily in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. Films he has written and directed include “Naanum Rowdydhaan” (2015), “Thaanaa Serndha Koottam” (2018), “Paava Kadhaigal” (2020), among others.

Police files case against Vignesh Shivan
An FIR was filed on March 22, 2022, against director Vignesh Shivan and actress Nayanthara. The complaint filed against them alleged that the name of their production company “Rowdy Pictures” promotes Rowdies and Rowdism and the police are trying their best to prevent such cases. According to reports, after the success of the film Naanum Rowdydhan directed by Vignesh and starring Nayanthara, they named the production company Rowdy Pictures.
Complaints over ‘noisy pictures’ of exploding fireworks
In 2022, a lawsuit was filed against the production company “Rowdy Pictures”. The case was filed based on claims that the production plant caused a disturbance when the fireworks were set off. Reports say that all the fireworks went off to celebrate Vignesh directing actor Ajit Kumar’s next film AK62. It is also said that Vignesh himself was involved in crackers and making noise.
Surrogacy trip
In October 2022, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan created a controversy after announcing that they were parents to twin boys. According to some sources, the couple did not disclose that the babies were born via surrogate. Questions have also been raised about whether they are adhering to the norms laid down in India’s surrogacy laws. When Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian was asked the same question at a press conference, he replied:
Surrogacy itself has generated much controversy. However, the law allows individuals over the age of 21 and under the age of 36 to participate in surrogacy with the consent of their family. ”
