Vijayendra Ghatge was born on Thursday, January 1, 1970, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra (age 52; as of 2022). He grew up in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He studied at Daly College, Indore. Vijayendra studied Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Management from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. Later, he completed an acting course from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Maharashtra.

Vijayendra Ghatge made his Bollywood debut in 1976, playing the role of Sunil Kishan in the romantic musical film Chitchor.
In 1978, he played the role of Kundan Ghanshyamdas in the film “Kasme Vaade”. In 1982, he played the role of Rama’s husband Kunwar Narendra Pratap Singh in the film Prem Rog, starring Rishi Kapoor as Devdhar (Dev), Padmini · Kolhapre plays Manorama (Rama), Shammi Kapoor plays Rama’s uncle Bade Raja (Bade Raja), Thakur joins others.
