Vile football fans laugh as they taunt Sunderland supporters with tragic Bradley Lowery pic – as cops launch probe

SHEFFIELD Wednesday have lashed out at fans for their vile taunting of Bradley Lowery in last night’s game against Sunderland.

Shocking photos have emerged of two men laughing while one holds a photo of a young man who tragically died of cancer in 2017.

The club said today it was investigating the incident and apologized to Sunderland fans and Bradley’s loved ones.

The six-year-old Sunderland lover formed a close bond with Jermain Defoe during the England international’s time at the club.

The youngster won the hearts of Britons on and off the pitch, having battled cancer for most of his short life before losing the battle six years ago.

Photos of the men circulating online today have been condemned by dozens, calling for the vile pair to be banned from matches.

In response, Sheffield Wednesday said it was investigating “outrageous and extremely regrettable behaviour”.

The club said on social media: “We are aware of the images circulating and have launched an urgent investigation alongside South Yorkshire Police.

“We strongly condemn this outrageous and extremely deplorable behavior.

“We can only apologize for the undoubted suffering we have caused Bradley’s family and friends.”

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police added: “We are investigating a public order offense following Sheffield Wednesday’s game against Sunderland yesterday (September 29).

“We will be working with the club to identify those responsible. Anyone with information that we believe could assist with our inquiries is asked to get in touch online, via live chat or by calling 101.”

Young Bradley was a regular Sunderland mascot, holding the hand of his idol Defoe.

In June 2017, he penned an emotional tribute to his “best friend” Bradley – saying his favorite part of playing for Sunderland was getting on the pitch with the brave youngster.

Defoe said he was devastated when he discovered the brave child could only have a few weeks to live.

After Bradley’s death, social media was flooded with messages filled with blue heart emojis in support of him.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation has also been established to support other families going through similar ordeals.
