Career
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Vinny Curry (59th overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft. He was Marshall’s top pick since 2004. Vinny signed a four-year contract on May 9, 2012.
He played in six games as a rookie, but did not start any. Nine attempts. Second season: 17 tackles, 5 assists, 4 sacks, 2 pass deflections.
He appeared in all 16 games in 2014. Despite not starting and only having 17 tackles and 2 assists, he led the team with 4 forced fumbles and was second with 9 sacks, behind Connor Barwin.
In 2015, he was moved to outfielder, but had just 12 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 16 games (no starts).
Despite rumors that he would leave in free agency, he returned to Philadelphia with the team’s return to a 4-3 defense. On February 2, 2016, he signed a five-year, $47.5 million contract with $23 million guaranteed. The Eagles won Super Bowl LII 41-33.
