In 2014, Vivienne appeared in her mother’s film Evil like a younger version of Aurora Ella Fanning. Jolie said her daughter, a toddler at the time of filming, was the only option because other children were too scared to film with her as a threatening character.
“We think it’s fun for our kids to play cameos and join us on set, but not to be actors. That’s not our goal at all, for Brad and I,” Jolie said Entertainment Weekly at that time. “But another child of three and four [performers] he wouldn’t come near me. It had to be a child who loves me and is not afraid of my horns, eyes and claws. So it had to be Viv.”
Jolie later reflected on the experience of working with Vivienne on the film, saying during a Disney roundtable that the child was impressive in rehearsals.
“When we did it together, we had a lot of fun. I was actually shocked that she did so well that she came back and hit her target! It’s scary,” Jolie said.
