WandaVision Creator Addresses Criticisms Of How Scarlet Witch’s Story Was Handled In Doctor Strange 2

WandaVision Producer Jacques Schaeffer shares her thoughts on how Scarlet Witch differs from the MCU WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. WandaVision Wanda Maximoff takes center stage after supporting role Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity Warand Avengers: End GameWanda’s starring role in her own Disney+ series has undoubtedly elevated her to A-list status in the MCU, though her dramatic transformation from regretful anti-hero in Avengers: Fallout WandaVisionThe last episode of the movie turned into a full-fledged super villain. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Often criticized.

Working with Radio Times, WandaVision Showrunner Jac Schaeffer talks about Wanda suddenly becoming a villain after 2021 WandaVision Schaeffer explained that while she appreciates the important role that Scarlet Witch plays in the MCU storyline, she understands that the role does not belong to a single director or writer. Schaeffer compares the experience of directing an MCU project to “Temporarily borrowing characters and storylines” and acknowledge “One of the things that’s so wonderful and unique about the MCU” It’s the characters that continue to evolve with each issue. Read Schaeffer’s full review below:

“I love Wanda and all the characters I’ve had the pleasure of working with; Natasha [in Black Widow]Carol Danvers [in Captain Marvel]Everyone.

“I am grateful to [Wanda] I just wanted to know more about her in any way I could. Actually just to know more about Lizzie [Olsen] No matter what, she is so great.”

Wanda Maximoff’s fate may not be determined yet

Jacques Schaeffer’s comments confirm that Scarlet Witch’s MCU journey was not written from the beginning. Instead, each appearance of Wanda changes her journey and provides new possibilities for the hero’s future stories. Since Wanda is not owned by a single writer or director, it is always possible to undo or adjust what was established by her previous appearances. This includes Scarlet Witch’s seemingly permanent death in Avengers: The Last Jedi. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The Scarlet Witch in the comics is also in a state of constant evolution. X-Men douchebag the Avengers Hero, from mutant to “possible” Inhuman, from Magneto’s biological daughter to adopted daughter, and vice versa. Death is not an obstacle for Wanda either, as she has been resurrected from the dead and forgiven for rewriting reality. Similarly, it is still possible for Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch to come back from the dead and regain her superhero status in the Marvel Universe.

The arcs of characters like Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, and Peter Parker might make it seem like Marvel Studios has an extremely detailed, multi-movie plan for each character’s MCU journey. But the truth is, nothing is certain with MCU characters. Even Thanos in the Avengers’ The addition of a post-credits sequence doesn’t set up any clear plans for the villain, and Iron Man’s heroic sacrifice Avengers: End Game It may seem like a pipe dream in the first stage.

Part of the appeal of a cinematic universe like the MCU is the mystery of future projects.
