Kelsea Ballerini is putting her hat back in the ring thanks to boyfriend Chase Stokes.

Stokes, 32 — who first fueled dating rumors with the country music star, 31, in January 2023 — stars in Ballerina’s “First Rodeo” music video, which she premiered on Wednesday, Oct. 16, ahead of her movie’s release on the 25th. October new album, Forms.

The emotional video begins with Ballerina lying in the sand wearing a pale pink satin dress. She looks at the water and begins to sing the first verse of the song, which she says is about giving love another chance.

“Listen, there’s a reality that the inner monologue after a public breakup is, ‘I feel washed in the heart. I feel like I don’t know how to do it anymore,’ Ballerini, who filed for divorce from her ex-husband Morgan Evans after nearly five years of marriage in August 2022, said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.

“But at the end of the day, choosing love is greater, and the honesty of telling me please take it easy and be patient with me can actually be a beautiful and bonding moment. ‘The First Rodeo’ encapsulates that conversation, and even more, that decision within myself to be vulnerable and open and letting hope seep back into it all,” her statement continued.

As Ballerini begins to sing the chorus of the song in the music video, she is seen running into Stokes’ arms and they share a sweet, long hug.

With footage of her riding the carousel interspersed between scenes of the two holding hands and Stokes planting a kiss on Ballerina’s forehead, she sings: “I thought I knew the ropes / I thought I could ride like a pro / I never knew I’d have Round two / I’m down, baby, but I found you / Take my heart, but slowly / ‘Cause this ain’t my first rodeo.”

The video continues with Ballerini singing on the beach on top of a pile of luggage and holding Stokes’ hands.

It ends with the singer running down the boardwalk and taking a boat ride before arriving in a hotel room, where she starts downing a glass of martini while watching the rodeo on the big screen.

“The visuals are meant to show the emotion, the duality, the feelings and the landscape of this record,” Ballerini said of the video. “But as personal as it is and my own art and life, it’s kind of at a point now where it turns into a shared relationship… where it becomes a different meaning for everyone.”
