The viral video shows the colossal snake swaying along the surface of the murky floodwaters, with debris and debris bouncing around next to it.

There is a very large bulge along the body, but the huge head is submerged and out of sight.

Neighbors have noticed that their chickens are disappearing, and a snake seems to be the culprit.

It was even claimed that the snake ate the whole dog as its last meal.

The huge snake was noticed by a local in the province of Pattani, in the south of Thailand, after the ground was soaked with water due to heavy rains.

Resident Mohammad Sobri Abdulrahman said: “Neighbors told me that the snake was eating their chickens, so they kept disappearing.

“When the area was flooded, it had nowhere to go, so maybe it got stuck where we first saw it.”

When Mohammad returned to the site two days later, the giant snake appeared to be dead.

Another part of the video shows him floating motionless, belly up, in brown water near a drain pipe hole.

The monstrous reptile has been identified as a reticulated python that lives throughout Southeast Asia.

One X user commented on the video: “It’s a belly-up reticulated python, which means it’s either dead or in big trouble. Poor guy.”

Another was less sympathetic to the snake: “I just crossed Thailand off my list.”

A third viewer was particularly upset and assumed the worst: “That belly bump is also terrifyingly human-shaped!”

What is a reticulated python?

The reticulated python is known to be the longest snake in the world.

The reticulated python is known to be the longest snake in the world.

The longest reticulated python on record was 32 feet long – almost 10 meters! That’s longer than the average giraffe.

It is also one of the three heaviest snake species in the world.

The python is commonly found throughout Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, India, and Borneo.

There are at least two documented cases of reticulated pythons eating humans – both in Indonesia. Once in March 2017 and the second time in June 2018.

Both snakes were 23 feet long and opened up after being killed to reveal dead human bodies.

Snakes feed on rodents, pigs, civets, bears, and even primates.

The main predator of the reticulated python is the king cobra, which is found in many of the same locations.

Thailand and its neighboring countries have a monsoon season from September to November, when high temperatures are followed by a deluge of rain.

This snake appears to have been caught in the ensuing floods.

This year’s devastating floods in southern Thailand displaced thousands of people from the area – and caused dozens of deaths.

According to Thailand’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, at least 25 people have died in flood-related incidents and more than 33,000 people have been forced to flee their homes.

The Department of Mineral Resources has warned that there is currently a risk of landslides and flash floods in southern Thailand, which could hamper rescue missions.
