Watch shocking moment mass brawl erupts between knife-wielding thugs in Turkish holiday hotspot forcing Brits to flee

HUNDREDS of Britons have been forced to flee a popular Turkish belt after a major brawl between local knife-wielding thugs left dozens injured.

Tourists in Oludeniz, Turkey were forced to evacuate after a group of over 100 thugs threw glass bottles and allegedly stabbed a local bar owner who was rushed to hospital following the attack.

The incident sent many Britons scrambling for cover as gunshots began ringing through the festive hotspot, with one Briton telling the Sun: “There was blood everywhere!”

Footage obtained by The Sun shows the chaos unfolding as a violent mob rushes down a busy street, with thugs visibly carrying knives as missiles are fired at a popular tourist bar.

Many tourists had already packed bars and restaurants ahead of the England v Ireland game last night, before trouble broke out at around 7.30pm.

One Briton, who was watching the game with his family, told The Sun: “We were just sitting at the bar watching the football and then there was a huge crowd outside.

“People were stabbing each other – they started attacking the owner of the VIP bar.

“There were a good 200 people who were throwing plates and bottles.

“There were only 2-3 officials trying to sort 100-200 people.

“There were children and women trying to escape – shops were damaged. Armed police officers shoot in the air.

“We haven’t seen anything like it since we’ve been here.

According to witnesses, the attack appeared to focus on a local bar owner, with no reports of British attacks during the chaos.

One witness said: “About twenty guys smashed him with bottles and the like, and cut him with a knife.

“As far as I know, there were no English people injured – the police expected it to start.

“But you could be caught in the crossfire, one of the [the bottles] could have swerved and hit me.”

Turkish policemen were able to take control of the area after an hour, and road cleaners cleared the mess caused by the violent crowd.

But the frenzied outbreak had already put off many bookies on the strip, who decided to call it a night after local tensions boiled over.

One Brit said: “You’re just trying to eat and then you’re 100 meters from the mess.

“You just knew something was going to happen.”

They added: “It’s a really big tourist area – but to do it in broad daylight? I kind of feel sorry for the company, they’re all cleaned up.”

FIGHTS ABROAD

The Turkish clashes were not the first time pandemonium had broken out in tourist spots popular with Britons.

In May, a brawl broke out outside a club in the resort town of Magaluf, and hooligans were filmed punching and kicking each other.

Witnesses said the brawl was sparked by a group of Spaniards and North Africans, before a group of Portuguese tourists were found to be the culprits.

In July, two British women started a street fight in the resort town of Malia on the Greek island of Crete.

The video captured the pair throwing lawnmowers at each other – apparently for the man’s attention.

Fights occasionally break out between tourists in the air, not on land.

A Ryanair flight from Agadir to London Stansted in July had to return to Morocco after just 36 minutes in the air.

It started when the man, believed to be in his late 20s, asked another passenger to move so he could sit with his wife and young children.

The woman, who was sitting with her own daughter, allegedly refused to move – prompting the robber to start threatening her.

The flight took off without a hitch, but as soon as the seat belt signs were removed, the passenger’s husband, believed to be in his 30s, allegedly jumped to his wife’s defense.

The two men reportedly threw punches as Ryanair staff tried to intervene.

When the plane landed in Marrakesh, it was met by the Moroccan police, who ejected nine people involved in the waste from the plane.
