Westworld’s Ed Harris and Field of Dreams Star Amy Madigan Mark 40 Years of Marriage: Inside Their Love Story

They quietly had one of the longest-running unions in Hollywood.

Harris eventually became a four-time Academy Award-nominated star for roles in films such as Apollo 13 and The Truman Showas well as Pollock and Hours. He also made a splash playing Julia Roberts’ husband Foster mother, and was nominated for an Emmy for his role in Western world.

Meanwhile, Madigan became a national sensation after playing Annie Kinsella in 1989. Field of dreamsand opposite John Candy in Uncle Buck, also in 1989. She also had a starring role in the HBO hit Carnival. She was also nominated for an Emmy for her role in the 1989 TV movie Roe v. Wade.

About their marriage, Madigan said that everyone had long assumed they tied the knot after a whirlwind affair on the set of their first film, but she denied it, saying they had been together two years before.

“It’s a nice Hollywood story, but it’s not true,” she told Chicago Tribune.
