15 years have passed since then Twilight appeared on the screen, influencing the phenomenon of romantic fantasy for years to come.

The Twilight saga based on the successful series of books by Stephenie Meyer. Original Twilight the novel was published in 2005, followed by New Moon in 2006, Overshadow in 2007 and The dawn in 2008.

Meyer’s book series has been adapted into five films, starting with Twilight in 2008, The Twilight Saga: New Moon in 2009 and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse 2010, with the fourth and final book split into two separate films, Twilight Saga: Twilight — Part 1 in 2011 and Twilight Saga: Twilight — 2nd part in 2012.

Twilight saga featured several of the same cast members in all the films, with Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan and Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen at the helm. The films also featured Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black, Nikki Reed as Rosalie Cullen, Ashley Greene as Alice Cullen, Kellan Lutz as Emmett Cullen and Peter Facinelli as Carlisle Cullen. Other familiar faces included Anna Kendrick as Bella’s friend Jessica Stanley and Dakota Fanning as Volturi member Jane.

Both the book and the film series flooded the pop culture zeitgeist with the contentious debate of Team Edward or Team Jacob and various on-set romances, such as the relationship between Stewart and Pattinson, which ultimately ended in 2013.

Stewart spoke to the decade gap between the lead actress and the last film Party tonight in January 2022 about reviving the films when they became available on streaming. She explained: “It’s weird because it seems incredibly far away and also not that far away from me. … It’s work. … I think it’s amazing.”

After Twilight saga film franchise concluded in 2012, the films were made available the following year in a DVD collection called Twilight Forever. Since then, streaming services have become popular, and the franchise has appeared on several in limited editions — including Hulu and Peacock. Currently, Twilight fans can stream all five films on Amazon Prime Video until December 1, 2023.

In the weeks after high school graduation, Bella and Edward get married and go on a romantic honeymoon. The newlyweds are happily living the next chapter of their relationship until Bella realizes she is pregnant. Their post-wedding bliss is cut short when the baby begins to grow unusually fast and Bella faces a series of medical problems.

Her pregnancy also causes further tension between the Cullen family and the wolf pack; the latter would see Bella’s potential death as an end to their long-standing contract. Bella adjusts to her life as a vampire, honing her newfound skills. All the while, she and Edward watch their daughter Renesmee grow up quickly. The Cullens are in danger again when their fellow vampire sees Renesmee playing in the snow and assumes she is an immortal child (a child who has been turned into a vampire).

They bring the news to the Volturi, believing the Cullens broke the law and turned the child into a vampire. To prove that Renesmee is not a threat, they must gather their allies to take on the Volturi and keep their family intact.
