Who Are the Farmers on Farmer Wants a Wife Season 2? Meet Ty, Mitchell, Brandon and Nathan

A farmer wants a wife helps four bachelors to root their eternal love.

The second season of the FOX show focuses on four farmers – Ty Ferrell, Mitchell Kolinsky, Brandon Rogers and Nathan Smothers – and their journey to love. Each bachelor will host a group of eight single women who all come from the city and will expose them to the country lifestyle.

The show has multiple international repeats, and first aired in the US in 2023. Season 2’s stars range in age from 23 to 42 and work on different styles of farms, from citrus farms to potato and barley farms.

Hosted by singer Jennifer Nettles, the reality series will show 32 single women “what it’s really like to live like a rancher — from tending the property to feeding the cattle and baling hay,” according to FOX.

A farmer wants a wife premieres on FOX on February 1 and will be available to stream on Hulu.

So who are the four farmers who want a mate? Here’s everything you need to know about Ty Ferrell, Mitchell Kolinsky, Brandon Rogers and Nathan Smothers and their lives before the show.

Originally from Sikeston, Missouri, Ferrell is a 42-year-old single father. He owns a 50-acre farm with horses and roping cattle, and according to FOX, he lists his occupation as a roper.

According to his biography, he is divorced and has a 12-year-old daughter, Lennon Tyler. Lennon likes horseback riding and fishing with her father, and the proud dad often posts sweet congratulations to his little girl on Instagram.

“She may not like it anymore when I call her my little girl, but that’s one thing that will always be in my eyes,” he wrote on her 12th birthday in August 2023. “Daddy’s little girl from day one. Happy 12th birthday Lennon Tyler.”

Ferrell joined A farmer wants a wife hoping to find his “person” to enjoy life on his farm with.

“I’m looking for someone to be my person, my partner, the good, the bad and everything in between,” he said in his promotional video for the show. “This experience is about how I found someone.”

He specified that he was looking for someone with a “high level of intelligence” and a “beautiful mind”. However, the woman should first win his daughter’s approval.

“My little girl is everything to me,” he said.

Kolinsky is a first-generation farm owner in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, although he hails from another city in the state, Knoxville. He owns a new farm with a 19th-century cabin where he lives with his three dogs, but he has goals of expanding his land into the nearby forests.

Although he grew up in Knoxville with parents and two brothers holding more traditional white-collar jobs, Kolinsky has always loved the outdoors and planned to make a career out of his passion.

“Knowing that life in the heart of the country was right for him, he bought his first farm to pursue his dream of becoming a horse and cattle farmer,” his bio reads in a press release. “He hopes to build a farming legacy with his wife by his side.”

Growing up the youngest of three boys, Kolinsky places a high value on family and relied on the support of his crew — including his young nieces and nephew — as he embarked on his journey to find love on the show.

“Family is everything to me, since I am the child of 3 boys, I have always looked for love and support from my older brothers and parents,” he wrote under a photo of himself with his entire family on Instagram. “But now it’s time for me to find him myself.”

In addition to his family, Kolinsky is looking for a woman who will develop the farm together with him, as this is one of his main priorities.

“This country gives me the greatest peace,” he said in his promotional video on Instagram. “If I could share that with someone special, man, it would mean the world to me. I feel like I have everything in my puzzle except one, and that is the woman who will make everything complete.”

Rogers is a 29-year-old farmer from Center, Colorado, where he is a second-generation potato and barley farmer on a 1,000-acre farm. Center is a “city in one place” surrounded by the Rogers family farm, per EWand he grew up working the land with his dad.

“Later in his 20s, he returned to working on the farm full-time to continue the family farming legacy,” according to his bio. “His job is set and he’s doing well, and now he’s missing that special person to share it with.”

According to his Facebook, Rogers attended Colorado Mesa University and Adams State University before going to the family farm. In his bio, he describes himself as “just a small town farmer with a green thumb who loves the outdoors, golf and learning new things.”

Rogers may be busy tending to his crops, including alfalfa, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t ready to find “the one!”

“I’m on this show looking for love,” he said during the group’s promotional video in December 2023.

Nathan Smothers, 23

The youngest of the group is Smothers, a 23-year-old citrus and cattle farmer from Bartow, Florida. Smothers’ ranch covers 300 acres and has an additional 500 acres of cattle, both of which have been in his family for four generations.

When he was 12, his father died, leaving him as “the man of the house,” according to his biography, helping his mom and three older sisters: Nicole, Savannah and Aubrey.

“He returned to live and work on the farm full-time after college and is eager to begin his next chapter, including starting a family with the love of his life,” his bio reads.

In addition to ranching, Smothers is a caring uncle to six nieces and nephews, and is expecting his last nephew in January 2024. He also has a large platform on TikTok where he posts videos of his farm duties and his musings.

He may be young, but Smothers is ready to settle down and find “love for [his] life.”

“I can’t wait to find that partner who can be with me until, hopefully, the end of time,” he said in the group’s promotion.
