Who Is Aiko Tanaka From “America’s Got Talent”?

America’s Got Talent (AGT) Season 17 aired its second round of qualifiers on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 8:00 PM ET on NBC. During the two-hour time limit, several great contestants performed magic, acrobats, singing, dancing, comedy and more. Only two of the 11 works will be continued. Aiko Tanaka took the stage and performed stand up comedy in tonight’s program. While the judges applauded her, she failed to impress the viewers at home. One user tweeted:

Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara returned to the judging panel and gave critical remarks to all the contestants.

Who is Aiko Tanaka?

Aiko is a stand-up comedian, actress and TV personality raised by a single mother in Tokyo. The AGT contestant began her career in film, making her film debut in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. She also appeared in Justin Lin’s mockumentary, Finishing The Game, about Bruce Lee’s last film. She has also participated in several other television shows, such as The Jim Jeffries Show, The Howard Stern Show and Comedy Central Stand-Up Asia! Live. The contestant has also done stand-up in various settings, including naval bases and prisons.

Aiko is three quarters Japanese and one quarter Korean. The AGT nominee has also been on the half-hour comedy series Laughs and in music videos for various musicians. She began her career as a model for catalogs and advertisements in elementary school before moving to America to pursue an acting career. Aiko has since performed professionally on the television program Soul Train. In addition, the comic has been on MTV’s The Grind, Malcolm & Eddie, The Man Show, My Wife and Kids and Howard Stern.

Fans react to AGT contestant Aiko Tanaka’s performance.

During her audition, the comedian told jokes about getting citizenship, road rage and the American spirit. She impressed both the judges and the live audience, receiving a standing ovation. Aiko did a special called I Do My Own Stunts for tonight’s program. She downplayed her Japanese accent, her English problems, her social awkwardness, and her self-help books. Although the judges praised her performance and Howie Mandel applauded her, the audience was not impressed.

The qualifying round included 54 acts performing live at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The qualifiers will last three weeks, with only 10 competitors plus a wildcard entering the final round. Tomorrow’s program will determine which of the 2 best performers will make it to the final night. Polls will be open until 7 a.m. ET tomorrow.
