Andrew Webber was born in Kensington, England on March 22, 1948. He was born into a musical family, with his father, composer William Lloyd Webber, and his mother, pianist and violinist Jean Johnstone. Andrew’s younger brother is a famous cellist, and his aunt Viola used to be a theater actress.
While attending Westminster School, Andrew was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Scholarship. He later attended Magdalen College, Oxford to study history. But he soon gave up and instead went to the Royal College of Music to study music.
