Andrew Spade was born on December 24, 1962 in Birmingham, Michigan, USA, and is the second of three brothers. When he was nine years old, his family moved to Arizona, where he attended Arizona State University. During his college days, he and a friend founded Spade and Hannawel, an advertising firm that was later named one of Arizona’s Top Ten New Companies in 1987.
Andy has been married to designer Kate Brosnahan, better known as Kate Spade, since 1994, and the couple has one daughter. However, Kate committed suicide in 2018, and Andy issued a statement admitting that Kate suffered from depression but was on medication.
