Why did Bruno Tonioli leave Strictly?
Bruno was involved Strictly for 18 years, joining in 2004. Despite being a well-established judge on the show, the star admitted in 2018 that she had never actually watched it.
Sharing a very understandable reason, he said Radio Times magazine: “I’ve been doing it for 14 years and I’ve never watched a single show because I don’t want to get self-conscious. But we recently did a DVD of all the best dances from Blackpool – it was the first time I’d watched anything back.”

He made his decision to leave the hit BBC show in 2022 due to his grueling travel schedule, which saw him travel back and forth between the UK and the US every week.
“I’m done,” he said Sun, adding, “I just can’t take it anymore.” The Italian judge, who appeared on Strictly from the first series, he will now focus on being a judge in the US version, Dancing with the stars.
Bruno explained: “I changed mine last year [plane] ticket every week – they need continuity. I absolutely support them, that’s my decision.” He added: “Anton [Du Beke] did a fantastic job. He deserves to be in that place.”
