Biography of Cliff Richard
Sir Cliff Richard was born on October 14, 1940 in Lucknow, India as Harry Rodger Webb. Rodger Oscar Webb and Dorothy Marie Dazely are his parents. His father worked for the Indian Railways as a catering employee. His family moved permanently to England after the violence on Direct Action Day. Richard attended Kings Road Junior Mixed Infant School before transferring to Chestnut Secondary Modern School.

Cliff Richard started his career as a filing clerk at Atlas Lamps after passing his GCE Ordinary Level. He later founded The Quintones, a vocal harmony group school. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the Drifters in the 1950s. During this time he took the name “Cliff”.
Cliff, his debut album, was released in 1959. The album Me and My Shadows was released the following year. He released the albums 21 Today, Summer Holiday, Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp, Love is Forever and Cinderella in the 1960s.
