Dennis Anderson

Career

Anderson’s career as a monster truck driver happened by accident. He constructed a 1952 model Ford truck with red paint, which he later named the ‘Grave Digger’ after a well-known boast. The car was later rebuilt with larger wheels and a silver and blue 1951 Ford pickup truck.

When a monster truck scheduled to arrive at a local event didn’t arrive on time, Anderson, who already had huge tractor tires on the vehicle, offered to crush the cars instead. Due to the success of the event, Anderson became interested in monster trucks.

Not that his entire career has been without challenges. He was hampered by numerous injuries. For example, a kneecap injury sustained while riding in Chicago forced him to miss the entire 1992 winter season. In the same year, he broke several ribs, which caused him to have frequent ear problems until he recovered.

He had to withdraw from the current competition in 2003 due to a broken arm. He injured his wrist during Monster Jam Finals 8, so his son had to take his place. These are just some of the injuries that have been officially reported to the media.
