Gunplay biography

Richard Morales Jr. was born on July 18, 1979 to a Jamaican mother and a Puerto Rican father. He spent his early years in the Bronx, New York. But when he was ten years old, his parents separated. Later, while playing Gunplay, his father returned to Puerto Rico. In Carol City, in southern Florida, his mother and younger brother made their home. After having to repeat ninth grade, Gunplay dropped out of high school at age 15. After leaving school, he started using and selling cocaine. He was spending $600-$700 a week on drugs before his record deal and thousands more after.

Career

Carol City resident Rick Ross met Gunplay there, and their mutual love of music inspired them to form the Triple C’s (Carol City Cartel). Later, in 2009, the group released its first custom and automotive editions. In 2009, he made his first appearance as a solo artist with a guest appearance on Rick Ross’ song “Gunplay” from the album Deeper Than Rap.
