Iliza Shlesinger was a busy lady.

Galuten is from Santa Monica, California. His father is Albhy Galuten (née Alan Bruce Galuten), the Grammy-winning record producer behind Barbra Streisand’s “Woman in Love” and the Kenny Rogers-Dolly Parton duet “Islands in the Stream.”
“I was raised to believe that nothing worthwhile existed east of the 405 and that the Valley was just a place where the Teamsters rented film equipment,” he wrote in a November 2013 op-ed for Los Angeles Magazine.
After Galuten left for college, he moved to New York to try his hand as a playwright, but returned west five months later. Although his creative career did not take off immediately, Galuten unexpectedly found his passion later.
He is a professional chef and author of cookbooks

Galuten is a chef and author who has written three cookbooks, including the one from 2023 Panic-Free Pantry Cookbook (Mostly Vegetarian Comfort Food That’s Pretty Good For You) — with a foreword by Shlesinger. The project was inspired by their YouTube cooking series Don’t panicfeaturing short recipe videos for “mostly vegetarian comfort food”.
The James Beard Award nominee also co-authored 2022 Bludso’s BBQ Cookbook: A Family Affair in Smoke and Soul with Kevin Bludso and 2017 About vegetables: modern recipes for home cooking with Jeremy Fox.
He first met Shlesinger on a dating app

Shlesinger and Galuten met on a dating app in July 2016 and got engaged less than a year later.

The couple tied the knot on May 12, 2018, with one important flower girl: Shlesinger’s dog, Blanche. Wearing a white leash and a matching white bow attached to her collar, Blanche walked down the aisle with one of Galuten’s best men.
“She started crying before I walked down the aisle, but I couldn’t get to her because, hello, I just walked down the aisle,” Shlesinger said Brides. “But if I could, I’d carry her instead of my bouquet, and our first kiss would be Blanche, Noah, and me.”
She also revealed how emotional she felt on her big day.
“The moment the curtains opened, I saw Noah and our guests and how beautiful the moment was, I completely lost it,” she said.. – I laughed and cried uncontrollably, and my parents literally had to support me because I couldn’t feel my legs.

In weekly episodes, the foodie duo share kitchen tips and recipes including, among others, peach brandy bread pudding, mushroom ragù, smoked potato tacos and teriyaki steak.
Galuten spawned his cookbook in 2023 from the channel of the same name, hoping to show “people how to cook food they’re willing to eat.”
He once ate 102 different cuisines in Southern California

To expand his palate, Galuten went on a food tour of Southern California in 2008. According to Eater Los Angeles, he tried food from a different country every day with a total of 102 unique cuisines. He wrote about the experience on a blog called Man Bites World (which is no longer active).
Galuten later wrote about his experience for Los Angeles Magazine in 2013
“I started Man Bites World, a simple blog where I set myself the daunting task of eating food from a different country every day until my kitchen runs out,” he wrote. “There were a few rules: no days off, no cooking myself and no mail order imports (sorry, fermented Swedish herrings).”
Some of the places he went to included a “Sri Lankan curry restaurant”, a “South African sports bar” and a “Nigerian hole in the wall”.
After weeks of this experiment, he concluded “that food is our best hope of ever truly understanding each other and that if you embrace the flavors of someone’s soul, they will embrace you (sometimes literally).”
He and Shlesinger welcomed their first child in 2022

Shlesinger announced she was pregnant with a baby girl during a stand-up set in San Antonio on Aug. 13, 2021, and later told PEOPLE she was feeling “excited and open-minded.” She also revealed that her assistant knew the news before Galuten.
“We found out on the test, and my assistant was in the room before my husband arrived,” she said. “Technically, she found out first. Everyone was embarrassed!” Shlesinger and Galuten welcomed their daughter, Sierra Mae, on Jan. 13, 2022, weighing 7 lbs., 9 oz., PEOPLE exclusively reported.
“We live in Hollywood, and she’s the first person I’ve been excited to meet,” Shlesinger said. “Mother and baby are beautiful. Dad’s back hurts, nothing to do with pregnancy.”
The new parents wanted two different things for their daughter’s name — Shlesinger “wanted a unique name that evokes nature,” while Galuten “wanted a simple name.” The Pieces of a woman the actress explained, “Our compromise was a unique name with an uncomplicated spelling.”
He thinks Shlesinger is “the greatest woman in the world”

On June 19, 2022, Galuten shared a tribute to Shlesinger and several photos of a family lunch at Found Oyster in LA on Instagram
“Happy first Father’s Day to me, but more importantly, this is to the greatest woman in the world, who married me and carried our beautiful daughter better than anyone has ever carried anything in the history of mankind,” he wrote. “BONUS: find baby feet.🍾 🦐 🦪 🦞 🦀.”
He and Shlesinger are expecting their second child in 2024

Similar to her pregnancy with Sierra Mae, Shlesinger announced in a memorable way that she was expecting again. In September 2023, the comedian starred in a film in which she slammed the sex reveal and called on event organizers to stop releasing pink and blue balloons into the atmosphere.
At the end of the short clip, posted on Instagram, Shlesinger shared that she and Galuten will have a baby boy in February 2024.
“Sex reveals and baby celebrations can be done so irresponsibly so I just wanted to raise awareness about it while also emphasizing that just having a baby is special enough,” Shlesinger told PEOPLE of her message.
As for her condition, the comedian revealed that she’s been “touring a lot” and “keeps forgetting” she’s pregnant. In the middle is a stand-up star Hard feelings tour that lasts until the end of December.
