Jonathan Antin was born in Beverly Hills, California on August 16, 1967. His mother is an interior designer and his father is an artist. Steve Antin, producer and writer is his brother. He always wanted to be a hairdresser, and was inspired by the movie Shampoo.
Because of this, he wanted to become a professional hairdresser and eventually dropped out of school. He did, however, attend a beauty school, Fairfax Beauty Academy, to hone his skills.
