Kenny Rogers began his career with Bobby Doyle’s band, with whom he performed in clubs before disbanding in 1965. After that, he collaborated with two musicians, Eddy Arnold and Mickey Gilley. During his early career, Kenny Rogers was a member of another band called “The New Christy Minstrels”.
After “The New Christy Minstrels” failed, Kenny and the other members formed “The First Edition”, which they later renamed “Kenny Rogers and The First Edition”. They had many successful albums together before splitting up in 1976.
