His younger brother is also a famous basketball player who competed in the Argentine and Spanish leagues. Jorge Ginobili, Ginobili’s father, was a basketball coach who coached in the Argentinian club Bahia Blanca. Manu received the same instructions and learned to play the game. Manu Ginobili started his professional career in 1995 when he made his debut in the Argentine Basketball League and was selected for the ‘Club de Bahia Blanca’ for that season. In 1998, he moved to Viola Rwggio Calabria. His NBA career began in 1999 when he was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs. However, after a year he returned to Italy and played for Virtus Segafredo from Bologna. He helped the following clubs win various titles, including the championship of the Italian league and the Euroleague.
Manu was named to the All-Rookie Second Team in 2002-03 for his outstanding performance for the San Antonio Spurs. They also made the playoffs that year, helping the team win their second championship.
During the 2006/07 season. he was assigned the role of the sixth player on their team’s bench. In the finals, they faced the Cleveland Cavaliers and won their fourth championship. Ginobili (40) became the second player after Michael Jordan to score 15 points in consecutive games.
