Season 4 of Glow Up returns to Netflix with 10 aspiring makeup artists from across the UK. Maya Jama, television and radio presenter, will host the program which will premiere on August 19. This 28-year-old participated in several events and became famous. The new season of Glow Up will feature 10 British make-up artists competing in a variety of professional jobs such as TV, theatre, covers and online beauty ads. Furthermore, the exhibition will be judged by cosmetics and beauty masters Val Garland and Dominic Skinner.

Maya Jama from Glow Up started her career at a young age.
Maya, who was born and raised in Bristol, began her television career at the age of 16. She first came to London in 2012 to pursue a career in acting, modeling and television presenting. She entered the sphere of television presentation after several modeling appearances. Maya was a teenager at the time and started working on JumpOff.TV’s weekly music video countdown before moving on to work for Sky UK on TRACE Sports. She presented a travelogue titled Copa 90’s Maya’s Fifa World Cup Cities at the 2014 World Cup. It also presented the World Cup Taxi series, which was part of the same World Cup series. Later that year, she joined MTV as host of The Wrap-Up.
She rose to fame after collaborating with the Brit Awards, presenting their 2017 Brit Awards pre-party and streaming the red carpet live on Facebook. She added to her list of achievements by co-hosting ITV’s Saturday night show Cannonball alongside Andrew Flintoff, Frankie Bridge, Radzi Chinyanganya and Ryan Hand in September of the same year. Jama was also a guest panelist on ITV’s Loose Women for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018.
One of the highlights of the Glow Up presenter’s career was being the youngest person to host Channel 5’s MOBO Awards with fellow host Marvin Humes when she was 23. Maya Jama has also co-hosted many additional shows, including The Circle and Stand Up to Cancer. Don’t Hate the Playaz, League of Their Own Road and The Big Fat Quiz of the year included the presenter as a famous participant.
Other works
Maya will be at the height of her career when she co-hosts BBC One’s Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer with Peter Crouch and Alex Horne in June 2020. Jama co-hosted another BBC-affiliated programme, The Big New Year’s In, on New Year’s Eve. In February 2021, she participated as a celebrity guest judge on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in the United Kingdom, as well as hosting Simon Cowell’s new music competition, Walk The Line. Furthermore, she took over as host of Glow Up after the third episode, replacing Stacey Dooley.
