Suits star Sarah Rafferty might be best friends in real life with costar Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter in the law firm series, but she’s been married to her husband Santtu Seppälä for more than 20 years.
The couple is very private when it comes to their personal life. They first met while they were students at Yale University, where Rafferty studied acting and Seppälä majored in finance. From there he transferred to the Wharton School in Pennsylvania and worked in investment management for 20 years. These days, Seppälä works at the Angeleno Group in Los Angeles.
Seppälä and Rafferty welcomed their first daughter together in 2007, and their second in 2012. During filming Suits the family split their time between Toronto and Los Angeles, something the actress said the family chose on purpose. She said The Red Book 2013, “What’s really important to us is that our home base is in LA, and when we move to Toronto — where Suits is recorded — we move as a whole and are always together in the same place. My 5 year old goes to two schools, which I was worried about, but it ended up being an amazing experience for her that helped build her confidence. She celebrates it.”
In the same interview, Rafferty credited her husband for making their family work. As she said, “I have an amazing spouse; we are a team. He works, I work, and we kind of dance with each other so we can be present for our children. But I think the whole ‘balance’ thing is an illusion; we just accept the imbalance.”

Seppälä now lives in the United States with his family, but was born and raised in Finland. According to his biography in the Angeleno Group, he is a dual citizen of Finland and the USA, and has also lived in Sweden, Denmark, France and Germany.

Rafferty and Seppälä met while they were both students at Yale University, where the future is Suits the star has a master’s degree in acting. They dated for several years before tying the knot in June 2001.
While at Yale, Seppälä was a member of the varsity tennis team and also an Ivy Champion. At Yale, he received his MBA from The Wharton School in Pennsylvania.

Rafferty and Seppälä married on June 23, 2001 and will celebrate two decades of marriage in 2021. The actress shared a photo of the couple from their 2001 wedding on Instagram, captioning it: “Two decades later, they’re still robbing. Happy 20th Anniversary, Santtu. Thank you for ‘hope, coffee and poetry…’❤️.”

Seppälä and Rafferty’s eldest daughter, Oona Gray, was born in 2007. The family welcomed a second daughter, Iris Friday, in 2012.
From what Rafferty shared on Instagram, it’s clear that their daughters live a charming, whimsical life. In 2022, she celebrated Oona’s birthday with a sweet photo of her daughter with butterfly wings and captioned it with a John O’Donohue song. Rafferty added at the bottom: “Grateful beyond measure, beyond words for you, Oona. Happy Birthday. With love, Mamarazzi.”
In January 2023, Rafferty shared another series of photos of her family on Instagram, this time to celebrate Iris’ birthday. The photos were compiled by a fan’s Instagram account, which she addressed in the caption when she wrote: “Thank you for making this walk down memory lane @sarahraffertypics. I’ll show it to my girlfriend for her birthday and claim I made it.”
In August 2023, the actress posted a video of the fairytale house she and Iris built together. In referring to Barbie, she wrote: “Meet us at the mojo dojo fairy house, bring all your magic. Love, Iris and Sarah.”

Seppälä and his wife have incredibly different careers. While Suits star has been successful in the entertainment industry for decades, and her husband is the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at the Angeleno Group. Prior to joining the organization in 2021, he spent two decades working in investment management.
Those 20 years included work as the founder and chief investment officer of Kiitos Capital Management and as a portfolio manager at Cantillon Capital Management in New York.
He started his career at Salomon Brothers, where he worked as an investment banker.

On Rafferty’s Instagram account, it’s clear that she and Seppälä enjoy traveling together. In 2021, she shared a photo of the couple dating back to their trip to Bhutan in 2005 and wrote: “Happy birthday Santtu. Excited to get back to my favorite pastime – adventuring the world with you. Let’s go up again. Thanks for turning all my logistically ridiculous ideas into reality. I’m sorry I’m not at home to bake you a cake.”
In June 2023, Rafferty shared another photo of the couple, this time in Turkey. She captioned the snap, “#fbf #Istanbul 2004 Happy 22nd, (1 day late) Santtu.
