Actor Seth Green is a well-known name for his work in series like Family man, where he voices Chris Griffin and roles in blockbusters like Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. But his work as a comic book writer led him to his best friend and future wife, Clare Grant.
In 2007, Green appeared at the reopening of Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles to sign copies of his comic book series, Freshmen. Grant was also present and photographed. They briefly connected and bumped into each other again at Comic Con, becoming fast friends before taking the next step.
Also an actor, Grant and Green collaborated on the 2019 film Changelandas well as several other films and projects, often linking their shared love of comics and games.
Speaking to PEOPLE shortly after their wedding, Green said of his new wife, “Clare is an amazing partner, an extraordinary woman and such a great friend and person who sees things for what they are and really takes the initiative to make her life better and the world better.”

Clare Grant got her start in Hollywood with a small role in the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic To walk the linestarring alongside Joaquin Phoenix.
Her scene-stealing role earned praise from her husband, who said on My plus one podcast about her scene in the film: “If you want to find someone in a crowd, put her in a crowd. Your eyes just go straight to her.”
In 2006, she starred in The moan of the black snake, playing Kell, Rae’s best friend to lead actress Christina Ricci. She was chosen by director Craig Brewer, who would later officiate at her wedding.
Grant went on to work with Craig Brewer, starring in the MTV series in 2009. A $5 wrapwhere she played a character with her name, Clare, who is a struggling musician in the Memphis music scene.
Grant also dabbled in voice acting, most notably playing Latts Razzi in the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. She also voiced characters in comedy series MAD TV and so on Robot Chickenan animated comedy series for adults co-created by her husband.
In 2019, Grant starred alongside Green Changeland, the film he also directed.
They met in 2007

Green and Grant met in 2007 and became fast friends.
“When we met, it wasn’t love at first sight – it was best friends at first sight,” Grant wrote in an Instagram caption for their wedding anniversary. “We’ve been friends for so long that neither of us wanted to screw up a friendship that had healed something in both of us.”
Grant first met her future husband at the re-opening of their favorite comic book store, Golden Apple Comics in LA. Grant photographed the event while Green was on hand to sign autographs.
“We met that night, but we didn’t get a chance to connect,” Green said PEOPLE. But their shared love for comics will soon bring them back together.
“Then we met the second time at Comic Con. We both had so much in common and ran each other all week,” he continued.
Green said My plus one podcast that he got Grant’s number and invited her over to hang out casually, which she accepted.
“We ended up being friends for a year, but I actually went to his apartment and never left,” Grant said on My plus one podcast.
After a year of friendship, the comic-loving couple became official.
They got married in 2010

On May 1, 2010, Green and Grant were married at a private vineyard in Northern California.
The wedding came just five months after Green proposed to Grant on New Year’s Eve 2009.
“A few months before I proposed to her, I was actually working on a ring with a jeweler I knew,” Green said. PEOPLE 2010 “In the end it came down to us being in a very special place and me having a ring.”
Grant wasn’t expecting the offer, she said PEOPLE.
“I’m a very rational person, so I was mathematically breaking it down in my head, like maybe after a while it would be okay for us to start living together, and then we can think about getting married.”
Grant wore a tiered Oscar de la Renta gown, while Green wore a custom suit by designer Dennis Kim. Director Craig Brewer, who has worked with Grant on several projects, officiated at the wedding.
“When we finally took that leap, we fell so fast and so hard that it was a shock to everyone around us, including each other,” Grant wrote on the couple’s 13th wedding anniversary, noting they were “closer than ever.” .

“You promised me a life full of adventure, and I promised you I wouldn’t kill you. Looks like we’re both holding up our end of the bargain… for now. 😈,” she continued before wishing her “bestie” a happy anniversary.
“It helps that we’re literally laughing all the time,” Grant said of how their relationship works My plus one podcast in April 2023.
She’s a gamer
Grant is vocal about her love of video games, often calling out her favorite new games on Twitter.
“I love that I haven’t lived with my mom for over 26 years and she was still excited to this day when she found out the new Zelda game was out.” Grant tweeted in May 2023when The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Realm was released.
She too shared art from Final Fantasy XVI in June 2023, writing “Happy Final Fantasy 16 Day to everyone celebrating!”
Grant also described her journey to owning a Sony Playstation 5 in 2022, when the gaming console was in short supply. She she finally got her hands on one in August 2022, writing: “After 27 years and buckets of tears, I’m finally the proud owner @PlayStation 5. Thank the internet, thank you, Twitter, thank you to my cat.”
In 2019, Grant participated in the Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am competition, where she and her partner placed 4th overall, earning $100,000 for charity.
She likes comics

Grant’s love of comics opened up worlds for her, including introducing her to her husband and landing her some acting roles. She and Green first met at a comic book store in LA and reunited at Comic Con shortly after.
Grant’s first major film role was in Graves, an independent film written and directed by comic book creator Brian Pulido. In the film, she plays Megan Graves, a young woman who is obsessed with comics and pop culture.
She also had an episodic role Iron Man 2 like a fan at an exhibition, true to her personality.
She is a cosplay pro

A fan of fantasy, Grant doesn’t turn down an opportunity to play dress-up.
For Halloween 2022, Grant appeared in multiple costumes, including the Marvel Comics character Ghost-Spider and Rick from Rick and Morty — with Green dressed as Morty.
Sometimes, Grant even gets cosplayed for the role, like when she had to dress up as Kylorian in the James Gunn film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
“I loved each of these movies so much. But mostly I loved watching my friend bring those characters to life and seeing the world fall in love with James as a writer and director,” Grant wrote on Instagram, alongside a series of photos of herself in full makeup and costume.
“Guardians holds a special place in my misfit heart and I’m honored to play in this world even a little bit. Thank you, James, for bringing me into the Guardian family. I loved every minute of my day on set,” she continued.
Playing dress-up with Gunn isn’t new to Grant or Green, though. In 2011, the director posted a series of photos on Facebook showing different looks of himself and other guests at a graduation party hosted by Green and Grant.
“This Saturday Seth Green threw a graduation party for his lovely wife Clare Grant. You had to come dressed for prom from any era or any movie. I wore a suit, because I’m lazy,” Gunn wrote.
Other guests at the party included Rileah Vanderbilt and Milynn Sarley, who were part of Team Unicorn with Grant.
Her parody music videos went viral

In 2010, Grant formed a multimedia production team called Team Unicorn with Vanderbilt, Sarley and Michele Boyd. Together, they created and published a music video called “Girls G33k & G4m3r,” parody of Katy Perry “California Gurls.”
The music video went viral, reaching one million views in its first week. It featured cameos from Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee and Green, who rapped the verse for the song.

In 2014, with new member Alison Haislip taking Boyd’s place, Team Unicorn released another parody music video with entertainment company Nerdist. This time they parodied Meghan Trainor’s song “All about that bass” with a music video on the theme of Star Wars, the so-called “All about that base: No rebels.”
