Meet Sutton Foster’s husband, Ted Griffin.
After her divorce from Christian Borle in 2009 Younger actress and Sweeney Todd star met the Hollywood screenwriter on a blind date, which eventually led to them tying the knot in October 2014.
They share one child together, a daughter named Emily who they adopted in 2017 after years of struggling with infertility.
“There was something about Ted that made me want kids,” the actress told PEOPLE in 2018. “He was part of my family,” she said, adding that she “didn’t really understand the concept of motherhood until he came into his own.”

Foster and Griffin turned to adoption after failed rounds of IVF. “While IVF was full of disappointment and heartbreak, adoption was clearly what we were meant to be,” she said at the time.
Foster has been open about their decision to adopt and has been sharing sweet tributes to their daughter on social media. Recently, the actress posted a tribute to Emily and her biological mother on Instagram in honor of Mother’s Day.

He attended college at Colgate University in New York. After graduating in 1993, Griffin returned to his alma mater to speak on Colgate Entertainment Group alumni panels.

He is a screenwriter for film and TV

Griffin works in the entertainment industry as a screenwriter and has several Hollywood blockbusters in his portfolio. Among them is the horror thriller from 1999 Ravenous2001 heist film Ocean’s Eleven and the crime comedy from 2003 Match men.
He is friends with Martin Scorsese

Griffin is friends with Martin Scorsese, with whom he collaborated on several projects such as 2010. Public speaking and Netflix Pretend it’s a city in 2021
In addition to writing and producing, Griffin has also appeared on screen. In 2013, he had a cameo role as Agent Hughes in Scorsese’s film The Wolf of Wall Street.

A year after their engagement, Griffin and Foster tied the knot in October 2014 in a private ceremony held in Santa Barbara.
Before their wedding, Foster’s wedding dress selection process was captured on TLC Say yes to the dress — however, the episode premiered after their wedding.
“I knew it made me ‘feel’ different,” she told PEOPLE of the dress she ended up choosing. “I felt very confident and knew it was the first dress I tried on that felt ‘right’.”

Griffin and Foster are parents to one child, daughter Emily Dale, whom they adopted in April 2017.
“Our lives are forever changed, and our hearts are exploding,” Foster — who shared the happy news with the audience at her Lincoln Center performance of American Songbook at Alice Tully Hall — said at the time.
Foster and Griffin welcomed Emily after years of struggling with infertility, but chose not to tell many people about their adoption process before officially welcoming their child. In 2019, the actress told PEOPLE that she realized that “Emily was obviously meant to be our daughter.”
Since then, Foster has soaked up every joyful moment with her daughter. “I’m fascinated by Emily; it changes every day,” the actress told PEOPLE in 2018. “It doesn’t matter where it comes from, my belly or someone else’s. When she was born, I asked myself: ‘What did I need so much?’ And I realized that I was waiting for her to come into my life.”
