Kanoa Igarashi and his girlfriend, Teresa Bonvalot, are making a big impression in the world of professional surfing. Igarashi recently won the WSL Rip Curl Pro and the World Surf League Championship, qualifying him for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
He became the youngest surfer in history to win the United States Under-18 National Championship. In the same year, he won the Governor’s Cup at the Surfing America Championships. Igarashi’s stakes on the qualifying series were constantly divided. He won the 2016 Hang Loose Pro and Pantin Classic, and had an emotional victory lap at his local Huntington Beach vacation during the 2017 US Open of Surfing.
Teresa Bonvalot is Kanoe Igarashi’s girlfriend
Kanoa Igarashi met his Portuguese girlfriend, Teresa Bonvalot, on the WQS program. She is also starting to make her mark. Igarashi just completed his debut CT season with an incredible second place finish at the Billabong Pipe Masters. Teresa Bonvalot grew up in the wave-rich district of Cascais, north of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Because of her polished, smooth demeanor and great technical skills, many experts believed she would quickly move from QS to CT. Despite finishing in the top 20 in 2018, she failed to show the consistency needed to pass the test.
Many observers believe Bonvalot is Europe’s most promising young athlete after finishing third and fifth at the last World Junior Championships. Although it is still in their relationship, the future seems bright for the young couple.
Parents of Kanoe Igarashi:
Kanoe Igarashi’s parents moved to Huntington Beach from Japan to raise their two children, one of whom is a regular contender for the World Surfing Championship. Kano’s selection to represent Japan in the first sport of surfing at the Olympics this summer looks set to round out the whole family’s story. He now seems to assume that his current goals are a result of his parents’ difficulties immigrating to America. He has the best chance of that if he chooses to represent Japan on the WSL Championship circuit. According to Kano’s father, Tsutomo Igarashi, the fact that Kano will represent Japan in surfing at their beach is an amazing story.
What is the net worth of Kanoe Igarashi?
Idolnetworth.com estimates Kanoe Igarashi’s net worth at $70 million. He started surfing at the age of three, and competed for the first time at the age of six. When he started appearing in numerous seasons of the Japanese reality TV show, his fame quickly spread around the world.
Kanoa was the youngest rookie at the 2016 Tour, at 18, but his mature demeanor drew attention. He won more Round Ones than any other surfer on Tour that year and stunned everyone by finishing second at Pipeline. Igarashi, who holds dual citizenship of Japan and the United States, has spent more time in Portugal. In his quest to become world champion, the global citizen has added a penchant for hard-hitting reefs to his incredible surfing arsenal by purchasing property in the wave-rich Ericeira region.
