Tish Cyrus is married to Dominic Purcell.

The couple tied the knot on August 19, 2023, during an intimate ceremony in Malibu, California.

Just four months earlier, Tish, mother of Miley and Noah Cyrus, announced her engagement to Purcell, who is best known for starring in the Fox series. Escape from prison from 2005 to 2008.

The Golden Globe-nominated series saw a revival in 2019, with Purcell reprising his lead role alongside co-star Wentworth Miller. Aside from his portrayal of the protagonist Lincoln Burros, the actor has appeared in several projects on television and film.

Purcell and Tish’s relationship began through Instagram DMs, and they made their relationship official on Instagram in November 2022. In the months that followed, they both shared snippets of their romance on social media.

Purcell was born in England but moved to Australia at the age of 2. He continued his early education there, eventually focusing on theater studies as he grew older. In fact, he attended classes with Hugh Jackman during his time at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth.

“We both trained together at #dramaschool. He hasn’t changed at all. He’s always smiling and basically a beautiful man. I haven’t changed. I’m still angry and grumpy,” Purcell captioned the now-deleted Instagram post, which he introduced alongside Wolverine actor.

He starred in several acclaimed TV shows

Purcell is best known for his role as Lincoln Burros in Escape from prison on Fox, which ran from 2005 to 2008 for four seasons before being revived in 2019. Set several years later, most of the original cast reprise their roles in the sequel, including Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield.

From 2014 to 2016, Purcell played Mick Rory (aka Heat Wave) in Flash on the CW. He reprized that role in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow and Super girl. He has also appeared in films including 2004’s Blade: Trinity and a crime thriller Three ways that same year.

He has four children of his own

In June 2016, Purcell suffered an injury on the set of Fox’s hit drama, and shared a bloody photo of the aftermath on Instagram. In the description, he assured his fans that he was fine.

“I’m fine. #thanksforsupport … I had a little accident on set. Haha! Back to work ASAP,” he wrote alongside the bloody photo. “It pays to have a thick skull when an iron bar falls on your #head!! Smashing it seriously also broke my nose in two places. Haha. I got a free nose job because of it…. I’m thrilled to be alive.”

Purcell was filming in Morocco when an iron bar slipped from the set and hit him in the head, causing him to suffer a broken nose and head injury. Twelve days later, Purcell had two deep gashes on the top of his head, the larger of which required 150 stitches.

He loves to surf

Growing up on the coast of Australia, Purcell started surfing at an early age; he was six years old when he tried the sport for the first time. “I was already hooked before I even started,” The Flash alum told Inertia.

Purcell posts about her love of surfing on her Instagram, sharing videos of herself and her kids in action. He is also close friends with three-time World Surfing Champion Mick Fanning (whom he grew up with) and 11-time World Surfing Champion Kelly Slater.

He and Tish were married in August 2023

On August 19, 2023, Tish and Purcell said, “I do.” The couple exchanged vows during a small poolside wedding in Malibu. Tish wore a strapless wedding dress, while Escape from prison the star wore a white shirt and dark pants. Miley and Brandi Cyrus were bridesmaids on the big day.

He was reportedly dating Noah Cyrus before marrying Tish Cyrus

Noah and Purcell were seeing each other and broke things off before he got into a relationship with her mom Tish.

On March 1, a source told PEOPLE that Noah “was offended” that her mother married the actor after he and the singer had previously been involved.

“Noah and Dominic were seeing each other like friends with benefits, all the time. They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something,” the source said, adding that “Tish knew he was seeing Noah.”

Although Noah and Purcell stopped seeing each other when his relationship with Tish began, the source claimed that “Tish never gave Noah a chance to talk about any of this before they got married.”
