William Murray Hawkins III was the birth name of Trip Hawkins. He was born on December 28, 1953 in Pasadena, California, United States. He is of white origin. William Hawkins, Jr. and Helen Hawkins were his parents. He was raised alongside his sister Jennifer Hawkins.
He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in strategy and applied game theory. He was extremely intelligent in his work and therefore graduated with honors in 1976. He attended Stanford University. He attended the Business School and obtained an MBA there.
