Yvonne Strahovski and her husband Tim Loden quietly married in the summer of 2017 after eight years of dating.

The The Handmaid’s Tale the actress and Loden didn’t announce their big news until they were on the red carpet at the 69th Emmy Awards in September 2017.

“We ended up jumping in the lake in our suit and dress. It was ridiculously hot,” Strahovski said, noting that they got married during a heat wave. Loden added: “We all held on and danced a bit. It was fantastic.”

The couple became parents the following year, and welcomed their first child, son William, in October 2018. Strahovski and Loden’s second son arrived in December 2021, and two years later a third boy joined them.

The couple met for the first time in 2009 while filming Chuck. Loden got a small role in the third season of the series, in which Strahovski starred. It is not clear when exactly they started dating, but the two appeared together at the premiere of the film Julie and Julia that summer.

After eight years of dating, the couple secretly got married in the summer of 2017.

Strahovski revealed the news of their surprise wedding on the Emmys red carpet that September. Speaking to E! Journalist Jason Kennedy, confirmed that she and Loden had married a few months earlier in Northern California.

“It was really hot,” Loden said of the wedding, noting that they said “I do” during a heat wave. “But we all passed. We danced a little at the end of the evening. It was fantastic.”

“We ended up jumping into the lake in our suits and dresses just to cool off,” added Strahovski. “It was incredibly hot, but we had a great time.”

He and Strahovski share a love for nature

One look at Strahovski’s Instagram account and it is clear that she is a big lover of nature. In an interview with Vogue Australia in 2018, the actress explained that she relaxes by hiking and camping and tries to spend as much time as possible outside, which she and Loden have in common.

Before filming the second season The The Handmaid’s Tale, the couple decided to embark on a cross-country road trip, making frequent stops for fishing, camping, and hiking in various national parks in Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana.

“It’s something I’m very committed to in my life; it will always be my love,” she said. “I just go out, hit the road and do whatever I want, without any plans.”

In 2018, the then-pregnant actress and her husband hiked the Grand Canyon for the Sierra Club’s campaign to protect the national park.

He and Strahovski have three children

Strahovski and Loden are proud parents of three boys. In October 2018, the couple welcomed their first son, William.

The actress announced the news on Instagram. “My heart has already melted into a billion pieces a thousand times,” she wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of her and her son. “We were blessed with the greatest joy in our lives, our baby boy. Welcome to the world Peanut, your parents love you beyond measure and you are already my little dream ship. My heart has been stolen!”

In December 2021, the couple had a second boy. However, his name is yet to be released.

“An angel joined our world last week. Welcome to the family my love. I love you so much,” Strahovski wrote on Instagram after his birth.

The third son of Strahovski and Loden arrived in December 2023.

“Our third little (big!) boy burst into the world at lightning speed, thank goodness Tim was there to catch our boy jussstttt as our amazing team arrived at our assisted living home,” the actress wrote on Instagram, recapping her birth at houses. “Such a surreal, intense, incredible experience I will never forget.”

He is a husband and a father

Strahovski returned to filming for The The Handmaid’s Tale seven weeks after William was born. “It was definitely one of the most difficult and challenging moments of my career,” she said. Glamor UK experiences.

Continuing, she explained that the only reason she was able to return to work so quickly was her “insanely amazing husband who came to work with me every day with my baby so I was never far away and I could breastfeed on demand.”

Speaking with Sydney Morning Herald in May 2021, she spoke more about the difficulties of returning to work with a newborn.

“We didn’t sleep – we woke up every two to three hours every night because I was breastfeeding – and he was incredibly small,” she explained. “And during the day, between scenes and set-up, I would go back to the trailer and breastfeed, so I never had a minute to myself. It was just shoot shoot shoot, feed feed feed, be mom, be mom.”

“I’m not quite sure how I did it,” she said before adding, “but my husband was there every step of the way. Actually, that’s what I did: I had my husband there and he was amazing.”
