Ree Drummond Says She ‘Declined Sedation’ While Getting Tooth Pulled: ‘It Made Me Feel Alive’

Ree Drummond shares details about her recent dental procedure and how ‘ecstatic’ she felt to have her wisdom tooth removed without sedation.

The A pioneer star, 54, posted about the experience on her Instagram Story during what appeared to be a New Year’s Eve outing.

“I’m 54 years old and two days ago I had one of my wisdom teeth removed,” Drummond wrote alongside a photo with her daughter Paige, 24, and Paige’s friend Anna.

“I even asked the oral surgeon if I could take my wisdom tooth home. He said yes. I refused,” she added in the next shot.

Drummond placed an arrow on her neck, showing her swollen gland.

“I also refused sedation,” Drummond said in a third post. “I felt alive. It reminded me of my only natural birth (Bryce). I felt elated afterwards! Okay.”

Ending the series, the mum-of-five wrote, “I miss my toffee,” alongside a teeth emoticon.

In recent years, Drummond has expressed a desire to take more control over her health and lifestyle. In February 2022, A pioneer cook the author announced a weight loss of 55 lbs.

She shared the habits she tries to constantly incorporate into her life: portion control, cutting back on alcohol, lifting weights, and being more active in general.

On Dec. 27, Drummond shared in a blog post that she and her family are switching up this year’s New Year’s holiday.

While she and her husband, Ladd Drummond, usually throw the party at the pizzeria they own in their hometown of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, the couple decided to travel to Colorado this year.

“We’ve thrown a big party at P-Town Pizza in the past, but this year we’ll be in Vail, CO,” she wrote. “We’ve never been to New Year’s Eve, so we’re excited.”

In an Instagram Story posted in Colorado with her daughters Paige and Alex, 26 (before her teeth), Ree shared, “I gave birth to them.”
